Wisp

A wisp is used by hand to mix a batter. In a drawer that contains junk. Junk contains the contents that are then mixed by hand. Hands are used for feeling for the right consistency to transfer into the prepped pan. Practice makes this become second nature and over time the ingredients become unique by trial and error. The instructions are but a guide to follow and the baker man is instructed by his own taste. Taste test is but a means to ensure the quality of such consistency that creativity drives new batches. Batches that become unique to tradition and inevitably ingredients get mixed up over time.

Haste makes substitutes become justified only by the satisfaction of such results. Taste buds bloom and hormones change over time as do the cookies that grandma makes. Sometimes these ageless recipes fair well over time as the original copies get lost in the house fires of the past and the youngest of the family tree are to believe what they are told. Close enough is often the fast made meal rushed by the hectic holidays that get ruined every year by the lack of compassion of the unknowing members. These members remember the bad more than the good and place images of negativity on the gatherings that celebration is intended to be; too be celebrated. Celebration that is ruined by what can only be described with misunderstanding and decorated with missile toes that explode as the fairytale kiss is lost by the pride of ignorance.

Past failures are reminded with the good intentions of an innocent family member that it's impossible to fix this broken system. It's not what we feel it is supposed to be. It's off the mark that we idealistically reach for. The lost spirit of joy is heart broken by childhood fairytales; let down by the very people who tricked us into a false belief, only to allow this cycle to repeat. Who can we trust? Trust is only a doubt that we guard with our shields to avoid being let down by the person we fear to become. We are only hiding from who we are. We are afraid of breaking an innocent heart and we ultimately rip hearts into shreds of confetti that we watch fall from the ski on New Year's Day; blindly celebrating without a sense of connection that we ourselves are capable to change.

We accept the limitations that we have as man. We give up on the hope of prosperity for fear of being let down by our brothers. We fear our very own being by allowing the lack of answers hold us hostage by denial. Are we to change or not to change? Be and let it be as it may be. You are the one who contains the key to the locked door of the unknown. They say that man was poisoned with knowledge and lost a perfect innocence by eating a forbidden fruit. The lesson is in the story, but the learner isn’t absorbing the proper message. We obviously gave up on hope after the first bite and ate our feelings to the point of gluttony.

The answer is in the simple message. We must stop eating the forbidden fruits and we must ban together as one. Collection of human consciousness is the power that had been feared by tyranny. Equality is the answer and without a high arch of power and classifications of man, then superiority cannot exist. Be better than yourself. Be the best you. Do not create an image of superiority that is only an ideal created by false fear. Fear only the change that you know is worth fighting for.

Together we have the power to change the outlook of society and to prosper as a single unit. Man equals man. Life is life and love is love. Fear drives the madness of doubt. We are mankind. So be a kind man. Equal to you is what I am. You are what I am equal to. Alone we are divided and we fall. Together we have a collective consciousness that is the power of the entirety. I am you. You are me. Our minds can be linked and we have powers that cannot be defined by any science known to man. Fear is the barrier that resists change. Change isn't to be feared. Fear is simply created by our own being to govern our existence. It simply is; neither good nor bad. It's simply there like a shadow that follows you. Break free from the limitations placed by this fear that follows us. This is the shadow of self doubt.

A wisp is placed into the hands of a man. The man adds special ingredients and mixed the batter until its smooth. A perfect mixture with all the right ingredients renders a perfect baker’s dozen of pastries. This is considered a normal everyday thing. Perfection is achieved by a simple task of baking. A wisp is used to mix the batter until its perfect. Man is the wisp and society is the batter. The ingredients needed are actions that each man portrays. Each person is of equal importance; just unique. We all are the ingredients of the perfect mixture. Man is the wisp; a wisp that is in another man’s hand. Divided into classifications and separated by imaginary boundaries; the man is without his wisp and the ingredients are not available to make this perfect mixture. A man makes do. This man is limited by this individual societal division. This man says, “Nobody’s Perfect.” Feeling defeated this man takes out his anger on his fellow man. Hope is shattered as the glass bowl hits the ground. Broken into pieces, without a wisp, and missing ingredients; this man is destined to repeat this cycle until infinity.

This man is who we have all become. I am offering my wisp and I am willing to share my ingredients with this man. I am only one man and this will make a big difference. One man is all it takes to make a difference. You are the wisp. The wisp is the man. Together we are the ingredients. Every man counts. Every single person is special. One man makes a big impact. We need each other’s ingredients in order to achieve perfection. I need your help. You need my help. We are not a lost cause. Hey buddy, I heard you needed to borrow my wisp. Keep it as long as you would like. It’s no problem; it’s only a wisp.
