The Spelling Problem

Due to a problem with spelling Daresca had to leave Hollywood and the night before departure from the city of angels he had a dream. After praying to St. Pete which was his tradition at the close to each day visions of clear water and a castle that rested inside a harbor were projected inside his sleeping mind.

This profit see opportunity encouraged Daresca to board the first flight to Tampa Bay that had a seat. With the time change he landed when it was really dark, and the only lights came from closed businesses that lined the concourse.

Daresca forged on knowing that a golden opportunity was here but where he did not know and after picking up the gym bag off the conveyor belt ground transportation signs directed him to the next move. Standing there underneath a sign that stated “assistance phone” a fashionably dressed woman stood still having conversation with a flatbed electronic device. “I am not the Treasure Cat, I am a Cheshire Cat,” she fixed her hat before getting madder, “it must have been a spelling error in the Cats in Wonderland program that needed to be corrected before publication.”

Turning her cell off before changing direction the model bumped into Daresca, “Excuse me,” the rocker whose time clock was three hours earlier stated letting her eyes meet his during this lovely episode of starting a friendship. “I was just talking to my imaginary friend,” she admitted fighting off some weird temptation.

“Daresca, and I am a musician from LA.”

“Oh, you are?” She composed herself as a cab came by with the driver sticking out his two cents, “which one of you needs a ride?”

Both took their eyes off each other to respond in unison, “lets share it.”

After getting into the back seat they requested the same address then instructed the yellow transport to pull out.

“Yeah, I was out of money due to a problem with spelling, the powers that be never could get it straight that my musical act was spelled Daresca not Dareska.”

“Those things do happen in the business,” his first contact in the new town stated as they approached the destination. Getting out she tried to keep the conversation going, “It was my friend,” she paused, “Jackie’s dream was to have a place for new musicians to play,” Daresca’s new fair maiden was claiming, “so come by the Castle and audition.”

“I would love to,” Daresca was feeling the visions were guiding him properly, “and what is your name?” He inquired.

“Jacqueline,” was the answer, “different spelling.”

Feeling in the donation mood and realizing that Daresca was out of money while Jacqueline’s dependency on the show price seemed a reality the cab driver kept his eyes on the finish to the friendly romantic scene before heading back to the airport to pick up another paying customer.
