The Big Surprise

THE BIG SURPRISE

       Vivienne lived with her father and her stepmother.  They were a very happy family. The father's name was Andrew and the stepmother's name was Cindy.  Vivienne was called Vivy for short

       For months Vivy had been hinting at the fact that she is not a little girl anymore and she needs a big girl bedroom.  

       The day before Vivy's birthday  Cindy decided to buy Vivy some new clothes.  So Cindy and Vivy went to the mall to shop.  They spent all day at the mall and bought all kinds of clothes.   

        While they were gone, Andrew took everything out of Vivy's bedroom and repainted it.  He put some heaters in the bedrooms so the paint would dry faster.   When the paint was dry he called his friend Bill,  Bill came over with a truck full of the furniture Andrew bought a couple of days ago for Vivy's room.  Together they moved everything up to the Vivy's bedroom and set up her new room.  Bill took the old furniture with him.  He said he had a daughter who would like it, so Andrew gave it to him.

        When Cindy and Vivy got home they went in the front room where Andrew was sitting.  Vivy started showing her father everything they bought.   There were dresses and skirts and blouses and Jeans and T-shirts.    There are also tennis shoes and dress shoes.   There was one bag she hadn't opened.  Andrew asked what was in that bag.   Vivy said those are underclothes you don't need to see those.  They all laughed.  

        Andrews said take the stuff up to your bedroom now, dinner is almost ready and I'm hungry.  So Vivy took the stuff up to her room.  Andrew and Cindy watched her climb the stairs then they heard her open her bedroom door.  They heard the scream and then they heard all the bags drop.  Vivy came flying back down the stairs and hugged her Dad and Cindy.   She said “Thank you, thank you, I love my new bedroom.”  

        They went in the kitchen to eat.  As soon as Vivy got in the kitchen Kayleigh came running up and gave Vivy a hug.  Vivy looked around and there was her stepsister Jaymi (Kayleigh's mother and Cindy's daughter.)   Also Granny Sandy was there.   Granny Sandy is Cindy's mother.   Uncle Arnold was sitting next to Granny Sandy.   Uncle Arnold is Granny Sandy's brother.  

        They all sat down and ate dinner.  After dinner Cindy brought out a beautiful birthday cake and everybody sang happy birthday to Vivy.   And then Vivy said “Kayleigh help me blow out the candles.”  So Vivy and Kayleigh blew out the candles.  Then they had cake and ice cream.   Everybody enjoyed the dinner and the cake and ice cream.

         Then they went out to the front room and Jaymi and Granny Sandy an Uncle Arnold gave Vivy their gifts.  Vivy love them, and went around and hugged everybody and said thank you.

          It was getting late so Andrew, Cindy, Vivy  said their goodbyes and started up the stairs to bed.  Jaymi and Kayleigh  went upstairs too.  They were going to use the spare bedroom.   Granny Sandy and Uncle Arnold left for their motel room.   
   
          When they were admiring Vivy's new bedroom.  Cindy said “Vivy,  there will be another party this weekend with your mom.”. Vivy gave Cindy a big smile and said “Thank You.” Cindy said “Good night and have a good sleep.”   Vivy slept very well on her new bed.   The next morning when Cindy asked Vivy how she slept.  Vivy said “Very well,  I love my new bedroom Thank you and Dad very much.”
