Part 3:
Grabbing the sticky note, I rushed out of the library and started walking, a tall shadow trailing behind me ominously. I picked up my pace and so did the shadow. Soon, I broke into the run, the shadow following with ease until it crashed into me and I fell to the ground. I looked behind me and saw for a split second The Man Without Eyes, smiling with a murderous smile. Nearly screaming, I ran all the way to the police station. I went up to the receptionist and told her I needed to know who left the fingerprint on the sticky note as it was for a history project challenge. She took the sticky note and vanished. After a couple hours of waiting, and feeling watched she told me who the finger print belonged to, “Joshua Monez is who this finger print belonged to. Why, he was involved in a supposed disappearance of some girls about forty years back. After he was convicted, he never was seen again. What’d you say this project was for again?” The receptionist asked with an arched eyebrow. “History, thank you for the help!” I responded, dashing out the door as a tall shadow followed me. “Don’t you want the sticky note ba-” The reception began to say as I walked out of the police station. I made my way back to school, tripping a few times but not once daring a glance behind me. I heard a peculiar whisper trail from the trees, echoing very gently, “Finmes”. The word spoken by nature, The Man Without Eyes or whatever was out there sent a shiver down my spine. I walked into the library and searched “Joshua Monez”. I heard a zap and all the computer screens turned black The electric lights in the library above flickered and went out, followed by a pin dropping silence. I shivered, did the temperature just drop thirty degrees? I was freezing. I looked for the librarian and saw no one. Peering into the hall, all the lights were out and there was no sign of anyone anywhere. I saw a dark figure rush down the hall, I nearly shrieked. I saw the figure dash into the door very quickly. A light appeared and I screamed, blinded as I couldn’t see, I dropped to the floor and sobbed, knowing The Man Without Eyes had stolen all my senses and I was his slave. “Miss..?” Asked a deep male voice. I opened my eyes. “Everyone in the school evacuated after several girls vanished and there was a suspected perpetrator in the building, he apparently knocked out all the electricity and I was runnin through the halls to see if there was anyone that got left behind. I came to a realization of such and stood up, flushed in embarrassment. “Hey, have you heard of.. Anything about someone called ‘Joshua Monez..?” I asked shakily. “Oh yeah, in one of the bathroom stalls, someone wrote that name. They also wrote that he was going to find all the girls and capture them. Crazy right?” He said. I stopped listening after he said the capture part. I ran down the hallway. Then I stopped and put the pieces together. Joshua Monez, why did that name suddenly seem so familiar..? Then I remembered, the quiet girl about a month ago talking quietly to her friend, “Did you hear about Joshua Monez..? He vanished a while back in the most baffling way.. He was said to have kidnapped at least twenty middle school girls..”. The whisper I heard earlier rung in my head as I though ferociously. The Man Without Eyes, why didn’t he have eyes? Was he dead..? No, the whisper “Finmes” wasn’t a word.. It was a message, a code. “Find My Eyes”. I gasped as I had just figured it all out. Then I felt someone behind me, watching without eyes..
