Planting A Story

With a quarter of her allowance gone Rayne Knight sat with the laptop energized in the middle of college station waiting for the northbound train. “I am ready to blow the roof off this,” She mumbled to herself looking around wondering if anyone saw the angry outburst.

Only a higher education senior who had his head tilted back trying to sleep was present until a female around his age appeared in the scene. “Corona Perry Snow,” the underpaid assistant inquired while Rayne Knight heard the comment finishing a sentence.

“Elyse, that was fast,” Perry opened one eye to see the maiden serve the drink.

“That is why they call me Miss Fast Elyse I get things done on the spur of the moment.”

Pressing the save button Rayne Knight turned around to see the commotion and reaching into her pocket book a recorder was retrieved, “It’s Perry Snow, the legendary Perry Snow with his Corona.”

Keeping her hand on the electronic tape machine’s trigger button a relaxed conversation was brewing from the two young adults.

“It was Jessie’s Destiny to fly the eagle he nicknamed Jess C Me Zoom,” Perry mentioned to his partner who was out of the money most of the time,

“Didn’t that eagle put Jessie out of money?” Miss Fast Elyse asked.

“Like you?” Perry inquired taking a sip out of the can, “he used a fast dashin hemp to get things off the ground.”

“He’s talking about Jessie and the time they flew the Eagle,” Rayne Knight gasp wondering when she should make her move.

“Cannabis?” Miss Elyse sounded concern.

“No, it was a really strong fiberboard that the eagle would stand on then fly,” he explained, “Fast Dashin was the company’s name that built the board.”

“So that was just a rumor that Jessie was involved anything that would make him higher than an eagle,” Rayne Knight stood up.

“Mr. Snow is that you?” Rayne spoke up.

“Rayne Knight,” Perry answered as Miss Elyse took a step back.

“It’s a political habit of mine ending up in the same place as a major source,” Rayne Knight honestly talked during her approach “but can I ask you a few questions about that hemp board?

Smiling Perry Snow agreed, and Miss Elyse checked the train schedule, “Good not for another thirty minutes,” she whispered before texting, “lovin a Rayne Knight interview that I set up with Perry Snow.”

The next morning at the college station the ticket manager opened the newspaper cage and the headline was a front-page story explaining the true reason behind how hemp was used when Jessie fulfilled his destiny to fly the eagle.

“That Miss Fast Elyse she sure gets things done really quickly,” he said entering the booth putting his coffee down to read the article.
