LIVING BELOW THE SEA

I am a variegated color fish and lives below the surface of the sea. My mother calls me Fishnet because I was entangled in a fishing net. What a joy it was when she rescued me. I am very large for my age and belong to the flying-fish species. Sometimes I fly out of the water High up into the air. I view the sandy beaches under the very clear sky. How different it is from my abode below with color and neighbors swimming by.

I swim and summersault all day and sometimes at night time too. There are caves below lined with colorful barnacles humans wear as jewelry. Talk about beautiful ferns and under-water plants! You'll see as you snorkel down here.

As the oldest, I help mom fetch the fronds and sea weed to feed the newly hatched eggs. What a sight as they wiggly their bodies, heads and tails moving too. Then one day, out of the cave we call home, mom thought it was time for us to go. she swam out first to a far off sight and spent the day with us.

She taught us how to catch smaller sea things, what weeds are good to eat. Then mom scuttle off into the night, leaving us kids behind. We were sorry to see her go but were glad that scolding was over. Now we could frolic all we want and build nests of our own.
