a letter in the post - pt 14 - new york on the horizon

by

i dreamt of the hole. and the lynx
you were in the hole, you were trying to call my name but you had no larynx. you used one of those artificial voice box things smokers sometimes use after cancer. the ones that sound like a creepy robot.
you said "all your fears, all your fears and all your memories come to real"
i woke up in my car, with the stereo playing. you know the song "there is someone, walking behind you" yeah.
i am not so sure about blazer. i understand him being shaken up, when we stop for food he looks at me with such desperation. like i could explain what happened to his girlfriend. also i have discovered he is extremely arrogant. when he is feeling good. he rambles on about useless trivia and facts, that no one would care about. like he thinks he is the only one with google or wikipedia. one of those. id like to see him play jepoardy and see how well he does.
i might have to go my seperate ways. but we're so close to the border now. we passed windsor! i saw the university i was going to attend. we must be close to the border crossing now. i hope customs doesn;'t give us a hard time. i just want to see new york. the buildings so tall they blot out the sun, night life. people who run a little strange so probably wouldn't be so turned off by me. with you there waiting.
you said you wanted to live there because there was always something going on. because it was a living city, a living, breathing place full of life. you had grown tired of where we grew up. you said it was dead, that i was dead. everyone was dead.
those words still ring in my ear. i want to show you how alive i am now. the death of...whats her name...really made me cling to life even more.
i am almost there. i will see you soon.
