a letter in the post - pt 12 - the walkie talkie

by

did you know the walkie talkie is a canadian invention.

anyway. we use it to keep in touch on the road. we haven't found any borders or anything yet. i think we're inbetween cities again. time seems to stretch on forever, or go really fast. sometimes i think i can hear blazer and his girlfriend talking, through the walkie talkie. like, to each other. not to me. i think i heard them say that they can't trust my eyes. that my eyes aren't right anymore. i heard them say they might have to ditch me.

i can't believe they would consider leaving me. it's because of me we have gotten as far south as we have. we are in whitby can you believe it! finally some progress. and they want to leave me behind. its that woman. she thinks i want her boyfriend. she thinks i want blazer. thats crazy. i tried telling her about you, she thinks you arent responding because you don't want to. because you dont want to talk to me anymore. thats even crazier. maybe it was her that kicked betty and dented the door. i am watching her.

i've heard other things on the walkie talkie too. i heard a mother yelling at her child. i thought i must be picking up a baby monitor but. there arent any houses here. i heard an old man singing, the ozzy song, paranoid, i believe.

i know i know.

i sound unhinged. i recognize it. crazy people don't think they are crazy. so i am good. don't worry. we are making progress. i should be at the border to cross into america soon. new york isn;t so far away. i'm coming.
