The Lady of Lisbon

The Lady of Lisbon

Let me introduce myself, my name is Ted. I am fifty two years old, active and fit for my age.
I live in my three bedded house in a rural town. My wife died five years ago in a car crash.
I live alone; my two sons are both married and live far from home.
My wife and I were both heavily insured, her death gave me financial strength so I would not have to work again. On retiring from my job on the council in a high position I got a very good pension paid for twenty years only. My wife and I had paid our mortgage off. Financially I felt I was a toff.
I had lived in our house for twenty five years, and though it was now too big for me I did not want the hassle of moving.
Yes, sadly I was now truly free. I was not bothered for being alone, I had friends and my hobby was gardening and chess.
My old friend who still worked on the council asked me if I would like to go on a cruise with him.
Not having been on a cruise before I thought let’s have a go. Get away from the house cleaning and cooking for fifthteen days, that sounded good to be sure. Tony was twelve years older than me,
Could only walk short distances, going further he would need a wheelchair.
We booked a fifthteen day cruise around the Mediterranean Sea and it was agreed he should take a wheelchair so we could explore the different places we visited.
The first port of call on the cruise we visited was Lisbon. A coach took us into town, I pushed Tony around the markets and shopping precincts in the smarter parts of Lisbon. I said” Tony, I have to go back to the post office to post a small parcel. Because of the crowds I will leave you at this café with a coffee. Here is a phone no. If after say forty five minutes I am not back ask the café to ring the ship’s crew and they will collect you. I am sure that won’t happen.
I found the post office fifthteen minutes away, stood in a queue for twenty minutes, strolled slowly back looking into the shops. When I got back, both Tony and the wheelchair were not there.
I looked around the local shops to no avail, hoped and decided the ship’s crew had picked him up. I sat down on a café seat to relax in the sun and ordered a cool drink, and deliberated the situation. A few minutes later an attractive thirty year old lady sat down beside him, after a couple of minutes she smiled sweetly and said” You look like an Englishman who is lost and does not know where to go.”
I responded “I unloaded my story of what had happened and that I was slightly concerned.” Margo replied “Let us phone the ship to see if he has arrived, if not, ring the police to be on the lookout”
My flat is just round the corner we can ring from there. You might get a coffee too?” I looked at my watch, I still had three hours to get back to the ship. I said “Alright that is very kind of you”
Her flat was literally very close by. We walked down a very seedy looking passage way. We stopped at a quite smart large front door, which she opened and we entered a hall with a spiral staircase going up four floors.. Her flat was on the third floor with three other flats, all looking quite smart, all doors. painted black with rather grand door knockers. We entered her flat, beautifully furnished with a five.seater settee in the lounge.
The ladies name was Margo. She said” Sit down on the settee and I will bring the telephone in”. A few minutes later I had rung the ship but Tony had not returned. They would ring me when he had. Margo rang a special police officer who took notes and said he would ring Margo if he heard anything? Margo asked if would like a cool drink or tea or coffee. I said a cool drink please. The room was so pleasantly cool with a fan heater doing a good job. As she went out she said “Have a look at my holiday book while you wait. Be a few minutes.” On the coffee table which was large had a big red bound book which I opened which was full of pictures of Margo and her beautiful lady friends enjoying themselves on holiday. As they were all scantily dressed I was getting stirred up below.
The last two pages was Margo looking very seductive indeed.
Margo returned with a tray with two cool drinks. She was dressed in a negligee and a small bra. She said she liked to keep cool when she was at home, and hoped I did not mind. She snuggled up to me and said “Did you like my holiday photos?” I smiled and said” What man could resist a beautiful woman as lovely as you.” She put her hand on my knee, I could not control myself, we went to her bedroom and made whoopee. I had not been with woman for nearly six years, and did not realise I needed this action as badly as I did. We both let ourselves go and we both seemed to get great satisfaction. We got off the bed and went and sat on the settee, whilst sipping our drinks I said "where did you learn to speak such clear and good English".
Margo pulled up her legs under her and said” When I was two my father got an important job in
England and all the family moved to London. I went to a good school in London till I was eighteen. I was thinking of going to university when the family all moved back to Lisbon, My father was promoted and felt we should be looking after our grandparents as they were very frail. When I got back to Lisbon because of the good English voice I was given a very good job in the town’ radio room. I married at twenty one, divorced after five years when my husband found I was infertile. I was still working in the radio room and ran two programs which I still do. I work four days a week. On the fifth day a which I call my charity day, I entertain one of my lovers . Half of what they pay me I give to children’s charity. Two evenings a week I go down to the charity which looks after unwanted children and read stories to them, and do small jobs as requested. Three years ago with some help we bought a house in the town centre cheap because the vendor wanted to help our charity. We were going to rent it out into small flats and get an income for the charity. Fortune shined on us.within a month of buying, a large oil company wanted our land to build large offices. We sold for cash £150k, and they built us a home for seventy children. This they did and named the home after me.
This was completed six months ago. I am more than delighted, but we must keep the cash coming in.I don’t need new lovers and don’t know why I seduced you. Perhaps to prove to myself I can still attract when I want to. I am very glad that I picked you up. Now we had a break can you do it all over again? Just then, the phone rang, the ship’s crew reported my friend was safely back on ship. Yes, we did it all over again.
After my shower, dressed and ready to say goodbye Margo said I would like 150 euros for services given, half of which will go to the charity. I gave her two hundred and a large kiss. She said “This is one afternoon I am glad I did not miss.”
Each Christmas I send a donation to Margo’s charity and always get a lovely reply. My new and
lovely wife has no need to know that the Lady of Lisbon set my heart aglow to get married s again
