I think watching him (Peter) win was as exciting as watching the Red Sox win the World Series. He has the engine and strength to accomplish whatever his brain wishes to do. It's not easy to do what he does, but he can do it all out there.

In order for a team, an ordinary team, to win the World Series _ by ordinary team, that's everybody other than the Yankees _ all sorts of things have to happen, the stars really have to line up in the right order. You have to have a lot of breaks, and we got them. I can think of a zillion breaks that we got in the postseason.

I know Hideki is relieved. This is where he always wanted to be. His hope is to finish his career as a Yankee and help the Yankees win the World Series.

I thought Joe's introductory speech really hit home. He talked about enjoying the game, not letting it pass you by, knowing we do have a good team. That's why the goal here is getting to the World Series.

But more important than personal awards is winning the World Series. That's the max that anyone could ask for. Let alone to have the ball in your in your glove for the final out of the World Series. That was the ultimate.
