After great pain, a formal feeling comes— The Nerves sit ceremonious, like Tombs—
|
Tombs are the clothes of the dead and a grave is a plain suit; while an expensive monument is one with embroidery.
|
I range the fields with pensive tread, And pace the hollow rooms, And feel (companion of the dead) I'm living in the tombs.
|
The growing good of the world is partly dependent on unhistorical acts; and that things are not so ill with you and me as they might have been, is half owing to the number who lived faithfully a hidden life, and rest in unvisited tombs.

John 5:28:
'Do not be amazed at this, for a time is coming when all who are in their graves will hear his voice'
(NIV)
Do not be surprised and wonder at this, for the time is coming when all those who are in the tombs shall hear His voice
(AMP)
Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice,
(KJV)
