I love and I hate. How can this be, you ask in vain. I know not, but I feel it to be so and am wracked with pain.

What is the meaning of human life, or of organic life altogether? To answer this question at all implies a religion. Is there any sense then, you ask, in putting it? I answer, the man who regards his own life and that of his fellow creatures as meaningless is not merely unfortunate but almost disqualified for life.

James 1:6:
But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind.
(NIV)
Only it must be in faith that he asks with no wavering (no hesitating, no doubting). For the one who wavers (hesitates, doubts) is like the billowing surge out at sea that is blown hither and thither and tossed by the wind.
(AMP)
But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.

John 15:16:
You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit – fruit that will last – and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you.
(NIV)
You have not chosen Me, but I have chosen you and I have appointed you [I have planted you], that you might go and bear fruit and keep on bearing, and that your fruit may be lasting [that it may remain, abide], so that whatever you ask the Father in My Name [as presenting all that I AM], He may give it to you.
(AMP)
Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.
(KJV)

John 14:13:
And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
(NIV)
And I will do [I Myself will grant] whatever you ask in My Name [as presenting all that I AM], so that the Father may be glorified and extolled in (through) the Son. [Exod. 3:14.](AMP)
And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
(KJV)

John 16:23:
In that day you will no longer ask me anything. Very truly I tell you, my Father will give you whatever you ask in my name.
(NIV)
And when that time comes, you will ask nothing of Me [you will need to ask Me no questions]. I assure you, most solemnly I tell you, that My Father will grant you whatever you ask in My Name [as presenting all that I AM]. [Exod. 3:14.](AMP)
And in that day ye shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you.
(KJV)

'If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer.'
(NIV)
And whatever you ask for in prayer, having faith and [really] believing, you will receive.
(AMP)
And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.
