Contest Description

In my last contest, I asked for people to put the contest title in their poem or on their notes, because, I sometimes comment on the poem without realising.  this happened again, I commented on two poems without realising they were for my contest.  I don't like to dicatate what you should call your poem, but please call it one of the four options below.

Simply choose ONE of the four themes below and write a poem about it.

1: A time to reflect

2: A betrayal of innocense

3: A paradox of juxtaposition

4: Forgotten field of forever

I don't like to set rules, but these are pretty simple.

New poem only from 11 April 2024

Use the theme as the title of your poem.  I prefer that you do not add or remove words.

You DO NOT need to include the theme/title in the actual poem.

It can be any form.

Tips

As those who regularly enter my contests will know, I dont see these as contests, but a way to showcase your poems, so I try to place everyone who has written to the theme correctly and follows any rules set.

You may write in any form or way you wish, but these are just tips on what kind of poems place higher in my contest.

I love word play, different ways of expressing things (when they make sense).

I like poetic techniques like alliteration, metaphors, assonance

I do like poems to be poetic, I do find some prose and narratives a bit bland.

Normally short poems do not place as high as those that are longer. So forms like haiku do not normally finish first.

I prefer poems to be formatted neat and tidy.

I dislike it when poets use AI.... I have noticed this being done by a minority recently.. Please don't.

Most of all enjoy writing.  I look forward to reading your great poems.
