Contest Description

The Eurovision Song Contest 2024 Grand Final just took place on Saturday, May 11th.  That makes sixty-eight years and counting!

Since Eurovision is such a huge event, I thought a poetry contest would fit the bill.

The poetry contest theme is not just limited to this year's Eurovision Song Contest, but relates to Eurovision in general, encompassing the past, present and future. For example, you could write about how the Eurovision Song Contest affected your life (positive or negative effect) when you were growing up, or how it affects you now.  Have you ever attended Eurovision? You could write about the contestants you love, or those you love less; favorite moment in Eurovision history; whether or not you even like Eurovision.

I look forward to reading your Eurovision inspired poetry!

Contest Requirements

  1. Do not put your name, poet notes, or any other information—including quotes or audio file of your recited poem—in the same text box where you enter your poem.
  2. Any form is acceptable from one line up to a MAXIMUM OF 50 LINES as long as it’s on theme (Eurovision - Past, Present, Future)
  3. Your poem does not have to be new. Any poem in harmony with the Eurovision theme that you have written in the past and meets the 50-line maximum guideline is acceptable.
