but this one is mine of this legendary reunion.

This is not the one sung by Whitney Houston,

This is my own personal rendition.

Very nice - I know this story quite well, and in fact interviewed Ace Bourke a number of years ago for a college newspaper, when he was in the US visiting family. Very touching and poignant story that teaches two important things - we should treat animals with the same kindness and respect that we do other humans, and though love can transcend and connect species, ultimately wild animals need to remain wild. John and Ace knew these things well, and though it was heartbreaking, they loved their friend enough to know that he should return to his kind. Thank you for sharing - wonderful!

John and Ace had no intention of keeping Christian as a pet from the very beginning, their sole motivation was to rescue him, even though they didn't have a clue what to do. Thankfully, they were thrown a lifeline from conservationist George Adamson, who had heard of their situation.
