Joseph Spence Sr
(Click for Poet Info...)

Greetings my friends. I am looking forward to working together with you. I am Prof. Amb. Dr. Joseph. S. Spence Sr., a prolific, worldwide acclaimed award-winning, best-selling poet. I follow my faith and am a World Peace Ambassador of Human Rights, Humanity, and International Diplomacy. My mother taught me how to read, write, interpret, and recite poems in high school, and have uplifted worldwide humanity with inspiration since. Served in poetic leadership positions, conducted seminars, recitals, and assisted poets worldwide to publish the golden words from their crystal inked musing pens. I authored ten uplifting poetry books and numerous peer-reviewed articles. My recent book, “Sincerely Speaking Spiritually,” uplifts and inspires souls to press on and achieve the highest heavenly prize for which ordained. This is the link to my book: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/53256236-sincerely-speaking-spiritually.

I studied English literature, creative writing, African Diaspora, Japanese linguistics, and poetry at the University of Maryland Global Campus, Howard University, and the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. During my military service as a decorated U. S. Army officer, I wrote poems for my comrades in arms who named me “Apollo,” Greek god of poetry. Received worldwide awards for my uplifting poems, short stories, and articles. Inducted into various International Scholastic Honor Societies. Governor William Clinton appointed me Goodwill Ambassador for Arkansas, USA.
I look forward to us working together. My residence? Wisconsin!

The following alliterated acrostic poem, sonnet format gives my poetic identity:

Joseph Spence, Sr: Acrostic, Alliteration, Sonnet Poem!

Jumping Jupiter, a jubilant sundae lover, and just a jewel.
Oppressed liberator, optimistically captivating; oratorical.
Saintly passionate, succulent salmon sampler; sweetheart.
Exquisitely enchanting, enchantingly amatorious; éclat.
Playful, painstakingly passionate, pajama wearer, patient.
Handsomely helpful handyman, harmonizer of happiness.

So sensationally super; Sagittarius son of John Spence.
Pleasantly personable, and matriarch Maud Spence’s son.
Enabling, exquisite, eloquent, evolving, and enterprising.
Naturally nice, no-nonsense, and a nutritional nobleman.
Carrot consumer, constant comrade, and cold-war veteran.
Heavenly enlightened, and just an elegant eggnog taster.

Sweet as syrup, shining armor off the shelf; savoir-faire.
Red-blooded poetry connoisseur and radioactively lovable!

NEW YEAR’S BLESSINGS AND RESOLUTIONS

Blog Posted by Joseph Spence Sr: 1/2/2007 2:24:00 PM
Happy New Year to everyone and I wish each of you a prosperous 2007. While others contemplate over their resolutions, allow me to reaffirm some of my favorites.

I am married and believe in the dignity of family values. My children and grandchildren will continue to be my favorites. I am from an egalitarian family of two sisters and six brothers. We were reared in a tightly knitted family with deep-rooted Christian faith in which we strongly believe. My mother was a jurist who interpreted and applied the law. Prayer and meditation are highlights of my day. I believe in strong Christian ethics and will not compromise such values. I have traversed the battlefields for America with honor and distinction during my twenty plus years of military service as a commissioned officer and would do it again. I am a no-nonsense professional educator who loves to see the glee in the eyes of my students, and have worked at the Justice Department where I enforced the law.

When reviewing my writings please do not include any graphic, explicit or contrary innuendos that may be considered integrity compromising; in essence, please keep it clean. Reading and writing poetry are daily activities for me. The art of creative writing and the creation of poetry is one which I have ventured into for enjoyment and enlightenment for myself, my family, and others. My family and I are emersed in writing poetry and short stories. I recite poetry for various community events to bring joy to others and will continue this practice.

I wish each of you the best for 2007 and pray for God’s blessing upon each of you from generation to generation.

God bless and Happy New Year!

Joseph

I enjoyed your blog. Your convictions reminds of my Father and my Grand-dad. They had strong Christian beliefs which made them very firm in their ways...yet flexible. I pray that God will continue to bless you and yours for the coming year. Continue being that support system that I know many other poets on PoetrySoup, inclusive of myself, come to rely on for an objective point of view. Thank You... Keep doing what you're doing. :)

Joseph - sorry it took me so long to reply to this blog I was away. I really liked the blog - the message was incredible - I am proud that I have had the opportunity to have met a true man of honor - it is what I try to be these days and its nice to have an example - My oldest son Cody leaves for boot Camp on the 28th of this month - I am proud of the choices he has made - hopefully he can become as good a man as you are my friend
