Is there a need for a chat room in Poetry Soup?

Blog Posted by Robert Stoner Jr: 12/11/2015 10:15:00 AM

In a previous blog concerning critic of work I thought wouldn't it be nice to have a real time conversation among ourselves on topics of need. Less confusion of what was meant and the ability to react to thoughts as expressed. Perhaps a general room for ongoing conversations with the ability to step into a side room for specific poetry needs as they arise, punctuation, form, etc. in an ongoing work. The possibility of scheduled lectures by members on topics of interest/need, we have a wealth of knowledge in our members.Yes there would be violations by troublemakers but a block button could remedy that. Any thoughts?

Peter has left this site , deleted his account. I just found out that fact. I think I know why but its old news here and rehashing it would do no good at all. I am now rethinking my own time spent here my friend.

Hi Nette, as noted below I found a chat room dedicated to this site, same rules of conduct, and had a few very nice chats with poets. Its open and anyone can join! I have it on my tablet now and peek in now and then to say hello!

There is a chatroom and its dedicated to Poetrysoup. I found it on www.baffin.biz a chat site. When you join there you need to type /j #poetry to join the room or type /list to get a list of rooms. I have no idea who all is there, but the title says Poetrysoup and had some fine chats with peeps there. I just found this about a week ago.

Maybe soup could have a 'critique room' rather than the present forum which is little used - I don't think I would use a chat room - there are enough issued caused on blogs and on poetry comments. If I want to contact someone I use e mail or soup mail:-) hugs Jan xx

Jan, I remember trying the chat rooms too. I did not "get it" nobody was there. That must be why Ian chose blog format, as Ruben points out here. gosh, blogs can be nearly anything!!
