dang it, shingles. They say be careful after age 60. I really want the immunization against it, but still with no health insurance, so I am hoping my husband's company will get a plan that allows the spouse a decent premium and the first thing I will do is get this shingles shot. My aunt had it and it was with her for a long time. sorry you got this terrible thing. Hope you have a happy New Year, regardless.

Hi Andrea: Yes I hope you can get the immunization. If you get treatment within 72 hours of the beginning say you have more of a chance of avoiding the post-herpetic syndrome. My Dr. Aldo put me on Methylpednisole to ensure I would avoid the deep inflammation that causes shingles to linger,,,so I am praying it works. Hug, SuZ

Get well soon, Suzanne, and be kind to yourself. My brother recently came down with Shingles, and I know from his experience the misery it can cause. My advice to everyone, is to get the shingles vaccine if you can, before you are immobilized by the disease. It is expensive, but can often prevent some of the horrible effects . I'm so sorry you have had to endure the onslaught! I hope it passes quickly !

Thanks Carrie: That is very good advice. 'An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.' as the old saying goes. Lovely to have you visit. I am feeling mush better and keeping on schedule with the meds. Thanks for taking the time to comment. SuZ
