Monterey Sirak Biography

I retired from a nursing career to live a simple life in the country and write. I self
published my first book of poetry, The River of Liquid Dreams. Small presses published two more, In The Presence of Shadows, and Faith Like A Dandelion. I had the honor of having one of my poems recited in a documentary produced by the Canadian Institute on Child Health, The Healing Journey. I give poetry readings and judge performance poetry competitions.

EKPHRASTIC CHALLENGE

I just wanted to share the information that Rattle poetry has an ekphrastic challenge every month. It costs nothing to enter and the prize is $25. They post a new picture the first of every month and you have until the last day of the month to submit your poem. There are two winners each month.

The incredibly talented poets here should be able to sweep the challenge!
