This is a spin off from Carol's 'punctation blog' .
Some years ago,(circa 2012) I was into this open poetry form (inspired by the late, great Marianne Moore) .
I was taken by the use of line indention ,breath length and rhythm of the eyes, etc make the 'sentence sounds'.(and the lack of punctuation in this open poetry form)
Here are examples of mine from that time ,as always it is easier to show than describe (tell), the first three explain the form visually and the last two are example poems thereof
POETIC WALK WITH MARIANNE MOORE
Come read and let my voice
take you along a
syntactical line
Better yet
if well met
listen, make
this a unique
‘as is moment’
‘twixt you & I
Line indentation
underlines the parallels
of my verse
The shape
my syllabic disposition,
the stanza
my unit of sense
in ‘sentence sounds’
surrounds
An open verse
Will
my verse
reach your ear
can
your eye
stay the course
Does
unconvention
confound
the rhythm
of your eyes
Take
a deep breath
exhale and read
between my lines
unphased
by phrase and
habitude
or human voice
The choice
is always
yours if
my poem will
be or is
not to be
a tune upon
your ear
AN OPEN FORM

FUTILITY
somewhere
red poppies
grow
fertilised
by blood
sun
and
winter snow
lost
freedoms
seed
on widow's
weeds
sadness flows
to that
no-mans land
where
there
are
but crows
Close-up
close
so close
alongside a
neighbour
closer
closer
that friend's
open
door
or
face to face
with an
intimate
one
for sure
within
the veil
the
Father's
Son
