LASTING LEGACIES

Some poets are and have able to leave a lasting legacy ,beyond their poetry,by creating a unique form.
Thomas Wyatt and the Earl of Surrey, with the English sonnet form. The American Haiku Society folk (and others) with Haiku in English....but the one closest to my poetic heart are ...Adelaide Crapsey ( and William Soutar) who so interpreted the five line cinquain to create a unique form and long lasting legacy thereof.
Because of Adelaide's interest in Japanese poetic form,it led to her AMERICAN CINQUAIN ( worthy of a blog of its own, watch this space as they say) .....truly a lady who was able to break the poetic 'glass ceiling' ...
