Often one artform can lead to another
Erik Satie ,the composer of evocative piano pieces was much influenced and inspired by the poetry of Latour, and his Trois Sarabande (1887) is said to be so derived.
Less examples come to mind of the contrary process,,other than as background ,but for me it has ocurred this year. Two Cage pieces 'Dream' & 'In a Landscape ' were the inspiration for an experimental 'happening' poem whereby ,listening to these evocative 'ear candy' style pieces I have recorded on paper the images ,and thoughts, that sprang to mind exactly as they happened.
It was such a strange, yet satisfying inspiration I intend to continue and experiment with a series thereof ,with 'ear candy' style piano pieces and other music favourites.
