What can I say?  My picture above shows you that I have lived a long time.  It was taken in 2008 for our church registry.

I was a stay at home mom until my last child was in school.  I was widowed when I was forty four and was glad that I was already employed at the local radio station.  I stayed in the same job for thirty years and after I retired at 65 and took a trip to Europe with a friend, I started working again and stayed for another ten years.  I have only been writing poetry since 1999 when I wrote to relieve my grief when my only son died.  I married again four years after my husband died and was widowed again in 1995.  I am an avid gardener and belong to two local garden clubs and am on the board of the district club and state garden club so have lots of meetings to attend. I have my own poetry corner in the state garden club's publication. I live in my home by myself and rent my farm land to a local bulb grower.  I am surrounded by beauty.  All of mv family lives close to me.  Two daughters, six grandchildren,
eleven great grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. We live in Washington State in Northwest Washington and love it here.

Dear everybody.  I have been gone from home for three days.  I came home this afternoon to find that my house had been broken into and I had been burglarized.  I am still trying to find out what all has been taken.  About 200.00 in cash or maybe a little more.  I will have to change all of my checks and they took all of my jewel chests and jewelry.  Mostly sentimental to me.  I will answer all of your emails when I get my wits back. The worriest part was tha my indoor kitty had gotten out when they broke down my door and was so frightened wouldn't come back until just now.  I can live through it now.  Love, Joyce

Something like this shakes us to the core, and our sense of safety and security flies out the door. I hope this unsettled feeling will soon pass, Joyce and you can gain a sense of peace again. So sorry!

I wish I was there to give you a big hug... And to make you feel better. Thank goodness your kitty came home. In a time of turmoil they are such blessings. I hope you're able to over come such a horrible experience. Thank goodness you weren't home! Know you have friends in us! Your friend. Carol

So sorry this happened to you, Joyce! At least you were not at home when they broke in. I'm so glad your kitty came home. I know how devastated I would be if my cat disappeared. I pray that you will soon be settled again and that God will fill you with His peace and enable you to feel safe again. Love, Kim

JOYCE! How awful! I'm glad your kitty came back! Pets are precious. I am so very sorry that this has happened to you. It all must be so upsetting. I hope you have family and friends close by to help you through this ordeal. Your soup family is here, too, whenever your ready to rage, weep or just need long distant hugs. You are ever a gracious lady and I would love just a minute with the bugger(s) who did this, cause I'm not so gracious. ;-) praying for you! xox Cyndi

Thats just awful Joyce, I am so sorry. I have jewelry that belonged to my Mom, not terribly valuable but I would be devastated if it were stolen. I hope the police catch the culprits. Thank goodness your kitty found her way home though, she must have felt so traumatized , poor thing

I am so sorry to hear your bad news. I think the worst is that you may no longer feel secure. I am glad that the cat is OK.
