Alison A Smith Biography

Born on an orchard in Central Tablelands, New South Wales, Australia.

Life was a struggle but with 4 siblings there was always something going on.

I have used poetry all my life to guide my thoughts and decipher the world around me.

I spend a lot of time not speaking to a soul. Words on a page have become my companions.

I am "Alone in a crowd".

Hi, I have created a detailed set of instructions for creating a song rendition of your poems using Suno in a new blog - see https://www.poetrysoup.com/poetry/blogs/how_to_create_a_song_audio_for_your_poem-45168

I use Suno AI. It is user friendly and creates amazing song quality whatever genre you choose. It adds a whole new dimension to my work. Poetry is fine on the page but when it is spoken or sung it comes alive. I know some disagree but that's okay.

I too use Suno AI adding a song rendition to 90% of my poems. I often simply use 'piano recital' or 'guitar recital' for poems that are not written as songs. I will write a ' how to do it' article, perhaps as a blog. Any other suggestions where to put it? Cheers

I am sure some poets would appreciate such an article. A few people such as John A recently sent me info on using AI to create a song from poetry. I managed to do it. It's the part about getting it over to my poetry page that will be harder for me. I think those motivated to do it will just do it. The poets doing it here and at FB are creating really cool sounding songs. One thing troubles me. When all kinds of people are doing these things, where will be the need for actual composers and musicians? The songs by AI sound so amazing it makes me wonder about the future of the music industry!! I wish I could go back to right before AI and stay forever in that pocket of time . That's just me

Once you have the mp3 file it is easy. If file > 3MB, compress it using the 'compress audio' link above the 'upload MP3' button => select you file, choose 'medium compress recommended' - wait, then download that mp3 and use it. => Click 'Choose File', upload it upload it via 'Upload MP3' button =>- when done the 'play audio area with time will appear - finally click 'Update Poem' => done!

Nothing replaces the real musician. What I create is very basic a true musician could make it sound so much better. As with poetry the feel is missing when presented without human emotions involved. A machine no matter how well it is programmed cannot emulate emotion like a human can.
