Many of you had inquired about Rico after he had passed. I was able to visit with his wonderful daughter Rhiannon and her husband Michael while I was working in CA recently. She baked the yummiest English scones I have ever had and prepared pots of tea for us. It meant so much to me that we could share some time together and I could look in her eyes and give her big hugs. I had not seen her since before Covid in 2019. That was the last time I had seen her father, my dear friend Rico. She spent time with him over Thanksgiving and then he went downhill quite fast. He had lung cancer. Luckily she was able to be with him during his last week and take care of him in Hawaii. I told her about the outporing of love and condolences on Poetry Soup and it brought a smile to her face. Apparently he sent her an email everyday in the late afternoon mulling over the events of the day. I told her he posted a limrick most days on the Soup. I have screen grabbed many of your lovely comments to email her. I have also included your lovely tribute Anaya and the comments received from it . Ilene, I just found yours as well and will include it. I hope I have included everyone. If not please accept my thanks. Please know your kind words and thoughts will be received by his family shortly In gratitude to you all. I love being a part of Poetry Soup !
