The Woman In the Mirror
The Woman In The Mirror
The alarm went off and I jumped out of bed,
I overslept, was running late, and slipped and bumped my head.
I stayed on the floor until I got myself straight,
It was then that I realized I was carrying some extra weight.
I stumbled through the doorway and could not believe my eyes,
All this time I had been walking around in total disguise.
I spent so much time looking at everyone else; I neglected the task of examining myself.
I was so busy looking at your faults, I forgot about the times I did not get caught.
I was so wrapped up singing my little song; I failed to recall all of my wrong.
I pointed my finger and I forgot the other four, was pointing in my direction and saw so much more.
Oh how alarming; the revelation, the truth, I had not lived the life of Ruth.
(Ruth was courageous, remained loyal and faithful through dismal circumstances.)
There were so many times when I did not do right,
Oh how my mind wondered in the middle of the night.
I may not be like the woman at the well, but I have been delivered and have a story to tell!
I may not be like the woman at the well, but I have been delivered and have a story to tell!
I was so blind that I could not see, the person who needed deliverance was truly me.
God is mighty and He has so much; He can change us with a simple touch.
God answers prayers; He is a mighty Hearer.
I will begin today with the woman in the mirror.
You have to be careful when you talk about others, whether it is me, your sister or a brother.
God is mighty and He is such a great Hearer!
I will begin today with the woman in the mirror!
I will begin today with the woman in the mirror!
I will begin today with the woman in the mirror!
