Friend-Ship

Friendship-
don't take it for granted
don't act like it will be gone
don't act like it will always be.

Appreciate
what you have when you have it
not when it's gone.

When something's gone-
it's gone.

Friendship is something to be treasured
the amount I had can't be measured.
I didn't take it for granted
I knew what I had when I had it.
Now it's gone
the only one
my Best Friend-
someday my heart will mend.
So much we shared
so much we cared.
We knew everything about each other
more that I would tell any other.
She always told me to never forget her
but I never could, I'm sure.
My heart was ripped apart
in that month of November,
but I'll always remember.
Every thought in my head, every tear I've shed
-is her.
How do I explain?
the feelings I can't restrain
the others around me
just aren't Tawnya Leigh.
A lot must be rearranged
a lot has to be changed
- already so heavy
I know others care
but this feeling no one can share.
I don't know what to do
how will I make it through?
I wish I could go back
I wish a friend I didn't lack.
If only she'd followed the seatbelt law
If only she would have known and saw
- she would be here
here with me, my dear.
My sister, my friend
my heart will soon mend
with time I'll adjust and bend
and one day, I pray, I'll see you again.
One day with God in Heaven
