Mountains

I cried for you, left broken and sullen,
I waited for you to breathe
And then I snatched your breath away;
Never explaining my actions

I live for this, this utopian existence,
I'm so indisposed, laughing at my own reflection
The particles floating in the air suffocate me in my sleep

I'm left shaking, chills wrack my body
My hair standing on end, do you see me;
Can you see my beauteous body
As I am laid across this mountain

I absorb the land around me,
Shredding trees with my thighs
These streams dry up because I am alive

Do you hear me;
The echoes that bounce off the walls of my soul
Whispers climbing into your ears at night when you lay awake in your bed,
These come for me also,

I am the one who feeds you
I will not be forgotten or thrown away like rubbish
You will feel me and I will own your body, mind, and soul

Can you hear me now,
Am I talking too loud
I can't hear myself speak,
My thoughts are up high drifting through the clouds

This transpicuous dalliance does not scare me
It brings us closer,
We inhabit the same body; yet we have two pairs of lungs
So now we're left anxious and breathless as if we were asthmatic by nature

Our organs are not riddled with disease,
Our spiritual beings are dying from sin
It's warped your life and left me nothing,

I'll have nothing to work with;
But I will reassemble our world
I'll climb this mountain;
I will conquer this mighty alpine
