For My Friend

One soul of love and hope
Holding me and my broken heart
Together we cope
And you’ve done your part
To be my friend.

You put your hand in mine
We drift back in time
Our minds sifting through
The clouds of trouble
To clear the doubt for me and you.

You do not judge to prove a thought
It’s your honesty I have sought
You pull the truth to the forward dream
Where all is free and carefree it seems
My only real friend, it is you.

For one day afar when you turn to me
And spill your troubles for me to see
I hope to hold your broken heart in mine
A true friend to love for all of time.

A dream for me is to always hold
That one soul of love and hope
Near to my heart, her hand in mine
To show her how much it means to me
To be her best friend.
