Fly With Me
I can relate
To the anger and the hate
To the feeling of rock bottom
To becoming naked and afraid...like Gollam
But somewhere there was light
Made me fight
To take off in flight
Oh, I was afraid-
The price I already paid.
For my freedom...not the kind that I wanted
But it’s what I have gotten…
So hang on, here we go.
I must climb out of this hole
Stop holding me back
What is that? A crack?
Slide into that, rest for now..
How could you?
It’s easier….that’s how!
I’ll sit and I’ll stew
Figuring out what to do…
Days fly by, weeks, months,even years.
Oh God, Please! Stop these tears!
Now, I’m done sitting around
I look up- there’s the ground!
Yes!
A few more steps and I’m there
I’m out of this hole-Out of my despair
But wait! Now what?
I’m standing on the edge of a cliff?
Don’t I have any luck?
What do I do-
The sky is grey, not blue
A storm is coming in-
Not a breeze, a hurricane wind
The rain bites at my face
It stings! Is there hope? Just a trace….
I won’t let it stop me
No! Nothing! I’m going to be free!
Free from the heartache, the pain, doubt and regret
They say, “You can’t fly”
I reply, “Wanna bet?”
I’m building my wings
One feather, now two
I’m creating my path
I’ll show other what to do
The rain, it subsides
Double rainbows appear
I’m ready for take off-
The sky becomes clear
Here I go! Leaps of faith-
And I jump
Bump-bump-bump-bump-bump
Now I’m soaring above
In the colors- in the love
I’m not looking back…
I found who I want to be...
I am flying
Finally! I’m free!
It’s your turn...grab the rope…
Come and fly with me!
