I Wish You'D Kiss Me the Way You Kiss Your Cigarettes

I wish you’d kiss me the way you kiss your cigarettes.
I wish you’d smile and bring me to your lips,
Wrapping them around me,
Holding me close.
I wish you’d savour my taste as if I were a whip of tobacco smoke,
Swirling past your lips,
Leaving its tang on your tongue.
I wish you’d pause and just enjoy the moment,
Holding me at arm’s length as if to admire me better from afar,
Before pressing your lips against me again for another pull.

I wish you’d kiss me the way you kiss your cigarettes,
I wish I didn’t have to feel as if I was second best
To a roll of paper in your pocket.
Tucked behind your ear to keep it close,
Held in your breast pocket to rest above your heart.
I wish your lips yearned my kisses the way they yearn a cigarette.

This made me smile! A fine example of humbling ourselves enough to see the small things from our Creator!

Great comparisons!! It had a kind of ironic twist to it with some thought provoking lines. Well done Avery!
