Commited

committed to the drugs
rather then the hugs
it took over her life
led her to try and take it…
just the other night.
her momma didn’t say much,
just shed a lot of tears,
because losing her daughter
was one of her biggest fears.
She felt so hopeless.
fighting the world, alone.
she didn’t even really know,
where she could call home.
coming and going.
they never said a word
but deep deep down,
she only wanted to be heard.
not knowing whats stopping her,
is it the fact her life is one big blur?
as she numbed away the pain
and all she ever felt was rain.
if you make it thru the night,
theres always a brighter day.
but she always resorted
to what she knew would take the ache away.

Ha, welcome to PoetrySoup :) I've also seen your explanation below. I think it's a good poem, and so very relatable. The best way for you to improve your own poetry (at least, that's how it works for me), is to read other poets on Soup, and leave comments for them. They can see that way that you are here, and they'll look you up and leave comments for you. Good luck, and hope to see you around :)

This poem is about my life. Going through life with rough times and never really knowing how to express yourself is hard. i woke up one day when i was really sad and wrote this and i was very proud of it. i enjoy expressing my feelings through poetry. im always open to feedback and how i can improve my poetry!
