13 Years

I forget how we connected
Probably on a barstool over a drink
Your smile and squeaky voice
You wanted a change and moved away
I missed you and didn't even know
Time goes by and memories fade
Life can be cruel, difficult times
A random message after so much time
Salsa dancing and too much wine
4am texts that make me smile
So strong and talented, one of a kind
You're the best part of my day
Such a meaningful part of my life
For so many reasons why

That sounds so wonderful. That this is possible after many years is a great thing to have happened :) Welcome to PoetrySoup.

As I read this poem I could feel exactly how you felt. You really did a great job describing how you felt in this poem and I really love it. Please keep up the good work and continue writing poems. Also continue to post on poetry soup. It would mean a lot if you went and read some of my poems and told me how you felt. Please and thanks. I'm looking forward to reading another poem by you. Have a blessed day
