So Many Times

So many times you were there for me
I can't begin to count them all

When I aimed up couldn't see my way
and always seemed to fall

You were there for me when others tired of me
To help me find my way

Sometimes my nights were long
seemingly never turned into day

My heart was broken and seemed it would never mend

Relationships severed that I thought would last unto the end

Many nights I cried and days even more
When I least thought you could come, you were there at my door

You talked to me and walked with me
more importantly you prayed for me

You never gave up on what you knew I could be
While others laughed and mocked at me

When my appetite tight failed
you fed me more of your love

Pure as snow
like a dove flying above

So many times you have been there for me
Without you mother, I could never be.
