Poverty Under the Stars

Living under stars seem to be a way of life
Despair, lack of food, misery, and strife
The problem gets worst everyday
Left out in the cold like dogs and strays

The politicans sit back and get fat
While the poor live among trash and rats
The economy is getting worst
It's the working poor man's curse

People are dying from starvation
For them there is no salvation
They scrabble for the little they find
And pray that the rich man toss them a dime

They thought that the could live the American dream
Only to find themselves living off lies and schemes
Nameless faces dilapidated places
Poverty fall upn many races

Hey you Mr. Rich man sitting up there eating your steak
Watching a weary old poor man end his fate
You don't care about his well-being
You treat him less than a human being

So the poor man live his life under the stars
While the wealthy sit back and watch him starve
Oh wealty one you shall be beaten with many stripes
Because you brought misery on the poor man's life
