Urban Centers

Towers, new or old, Stay grounded, slim or fat, Draped bright or in mold, Wearing hats, fancy or plain flat,
For some masquerade never to end.
Towers, tall or short, Gaze below, gleefully or brooding, Around their feet, mobility like in field of sport, low humming in parking lots and malls, intruding,
Upon the silence of a peaceful sunset.
Towers, lively or dull, Bear the midday sun drilling their wrinkles, Sulking morbidly like some numbskull. One day older, by the time a star twinkles.
Urban life drenched in various colours from dawn to dusk.
(Written in a parking lot of an urban center, while waiting for my son to finish work)

A nice wistful write Sunita, but I'm afraid it brings back sad memories to me (likely just my current mood). It reminds me of the Tower that collapsed near Miami, FL a couple of years ago and the twin towers in New York and the whole block of residential buildings that were destroyed by a gas leak in Mexico City. High rise buildings in Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, England, Shanghai, China, Brazil, etc. I'll keep my quite country life.

Your verse has the touch of higher studies. Hugs.

Nice penning Sunita, with good rhyme and flow too. Blessings, Gordon
