Gone

She used to seem so young, her fur it shone like gold. She snuggled up to you,
on the nights that were stormy and cold.
Her eyes were forever shining big, bright and brown. She never failed to make
you smile when you were down.
Although she couldn't talk to you, she always understood. When you sad, and
needed to talk she would listen as best she could.
She would listen to all your problems, but never give away, the secrets you
shared with her on that very day.
As she grew old, and she slowed down-her eyes still shone big, bright and
brown,
Then came the moment we all feared, we cried in anger , we shed our tears.
All we have now is the memories we put away, and her ashes left to lay.
We sit here thinking our will not mend, but we remember she died as our best
friend.

Thanks for sharing this... exposing your thoughts through your unique poetic style. Meanwhile, I greet you with the love of the Lord, expressed by John 3:16 of the Bible, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." Be blessed.
