You Said

You Said

You said you cared,
but I knew it wasn’t true.

yet I kept finding myself
always coming back to you.

You said you liked her,
and my heart broke in two.

but then you came back,
asking me to forgive you.

I believed in you,
knowing it was a mistake.

now I’ve found myself
living through yet another heartbreak.

I thought it was the last time,
I said I was done.

but then you realized
that I was the one.

Now I have to say goodbye,
for it’s my last day.

and I want you to know,
in my heart you will stay.

It’s been you from the first day we met,
now I must take, my last living breath.

There’s one last thing you should know,
before I have to leave.

I love you,
more than you will ever believe.
