Wandering

wandering through nothing, I stumble in space-

moments in time that my mind can't trace.

Floating memories, adrift like the breeze,

my arms are open, but my heart disagrees.

Tripping over myself, I find my way

things to think and words to say.

Lost is both a word, and a state of being,

Dreaming isn't wishing, and believing isn't seeing.

Two seperate forces, combining as one,

living a lifetime and just having fun.

Dodging an obstacle, jumping a hoop,

taking a minute to stop and regroup.

Happiness lingers, moments to ponder

Through the web in my mind, I'm content to wander.

Thoughts make me crazy, I fight with my self,

But now I must put those thoughts back on the shelf.

The lightning sparks and the thunder will rumble,

I strain my ears cuz the voices still mumble.

Looking out the window, the cars racing by,

sorting through clues and wondering why.

Footsprint echo, time marches on,

life's not a sprint, it's a marathon.

Where it begins and where it ends,

depends on it's family, lovers and friends.

Moments to let go, and things to treasure.

Times like this are hard to measure.

Light will creep in, and the sun will rise.

The time will pass, but the thought intensifies.
