Hazel Eyes

While she couldn’t always see the silver lining,
every word she spoke was redefining.
She saw the world rather different from the rest:
although there was darkness, she only spoke of the best.

When keeping memories, she was very selective –
she threw away any that blurred her ideal perspective.
She added beauty and compassion to every point of view:
as if her golden brown eyes changed the image that filtered through.

As time passed, her world darkened a little more everyday:
until she found herself sitting alone in a gloomy alleyway.
She heard a man ask her: “What’s wrong Hazel Eyes?’’
She merely replied: “This is not the life I used to visualize.”

He tried to convince her, that her perception of reality was shaded -
but when she looked up again, the spark in her eyes had faded.
While she wondered how her once perfect life had reached such a low.
She knew that she was stuck and that it was finally time to let go.

She felt that she could finally see the world and its truths clearly:
so she said goodbye to the life she once loved dearly.

Thanks for sharing this... exposing your thoughts through your unique poetic style. Meanwhile, I greet you with the love of the Lord, expressed by John 3:16 of the Bible, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." Have a blessed day.
