Grandmother
The sun is shinning, on this beautiful day
the cloudless opaque sky opening into may
The wind is swirling, the grass is waving
my thoughts are full of nothing but behaving
Today we are baking, cookies, sweet and warm
in hopes that somehow we'll transform
A time, never gotten back, a presence never to forget
A thought, a hope, a love given to remember what never to regret
