Missed the Boat

Wasn't even gonna mention it
Just couldn't help myself
funny how I let the best of me
get to you
funny how you just can't tell
sad how I check my horoscope
and write heartfelt notes
what a waste of unconditional love
I always say mama didn't raise no fool
but how I crumble
and fall apart at the seams
at the sound of your call

Just a fancy way
of not doing anything at all
is to try
so sorry that your love for me
wasn't meant to be
friends do or die
why
can't I quit when
enough was uttered so long ago

Saw the sign
say stop so many times
flying past countless red lights
guess it wasn't to my surprise
I saw the cherries flashed
my rear view mirror
still I said
go ahead
though it was ever so clear
glove box full of tickets
nothing left to fix it
slowing down
in this one horse town
i'm so damn sick of it

It's just a horoscope
why should I believe it
just a stupid note
I wont even read it
just a pretty face
I can take or leave it
I don't even need it
