My Skin

My skin is the way god wanted it to be
He did not ask people to judge or mistreat me
He thinks of us as sister and brother
Not to kill one another
This life is not going to last long
So we need to encourage one another and stay strong
The sad tears we shed
Are because our loved ones are dead
They should be wonderful tears
About the accomplishments over the years
The goals we have reached
And the dreams we have dreamed
Thinking about people surrounding you
While the stars brightly gleam
Our heavenly father died for us
So all we need to do is love and trust
Don't talk about my skin color
Just love each other
Wether were purple, orange, blue, black, or white
Were all the same color inside
