A Growing Heart

I have a special person in my life
I am just a friend, not a wife
His love makes my heart glow
I know as time passes, it will grow

His voice takes me away as he speaks
So far, it has been days, now weeks
I know he has not forgotten about me
He is the only one in my heart, who owns the key

When he says I love you, it stays in my head all day
I know that nobody but him can take me away
His hair tickles me when the wind blows
I am his love, and he is cupid with potion-filled arrows

I do not know how i get through the day, without a thought of him
He is a tree leading to my heart, with no broken limbs
Nobody could ever take his place in my heart
He is as warm and sweet as a pop-tart

His smile is as warm as a summer day
I want to be with him, even when I am old and gray
Nothing could ever change my mind
He will always be one thing that i would never leave behind

His eyes are as daring and curious as an explorer
They do not show fear or horror
I do not have to dream of things getting better
They are as wonderful as an acceptance letter

I have a special person in my life
I am just a friend, not a wife
His love makes my heart glow
I know as time passes, it will grow
