On This Side of the Fence

I think I’ll stay on this side of the fence,
Where peace and harmony flow,
You stay on your side of the fence,
That’s where the tall grass grows.
I don’t believe the same way you do,
Keep that religion to yourself,
Don’t preach to me about being neighborly,
When you put you that high on the shelf.

Ain’t no snakes on this side of the fence?
Got time to raise no hell,
Till somebody starts something,
By stepping on our tail.
That’s when it hit’s the fan,
On this side of the fence you see,
You think you are big and bad,
The real snake might not be me.

So go on believing you are all that,
And others should be afraid,
We all answer to a higher power,
On all the mistakes we’ve made.
Nobody is better in Gods eyes,
Who you trying to convince,
Go on bout your business now,
I’ll stay right here on this side of the fence.

Interesting write. We all get judged by others in this life, but the only judgement that will matter in the end will be the final judgement of God! A thought-provoking poem.
