Grave of Those Hearbeats

I have put a block of cement on the grave of those heartbeats.
I have carved sins in my skin;
self indused punishment.
I have harbored an entire navy of guilt
and kept the ships afloat with my tears.
I have been drawn in by bait
and ripped my lips on the hook.
I have chewed on rocks
and tied down my tounge.
I apologized to myself
because you didnt know how to.
I have sucked my own venom
and hid the scars.
I have grown tired of pretending
and now the cement is dry.
