Sands of Solitude

And now you will walk on the beach with her, drawing in the sand.
And now you will walk in the water with her, obviously holding her hand.
And then I think that we used to do the same things you and your new lover do.
It sucks and such a sad sight to see that you will get deja vu.

And thoughts of me will flood your mind as you tan in the sun.
And memories of us should fill your mind now that our love’s undone.
As effortlessly as you moved on, you couldn't have cared for me.
This hurt me, this broke me because I was just as pretty.

Like a sunset, like its glow, her aura is so serene.
Although she is pretty, although she is kind, she can’t compare to me.
But you overlooked my worth and you broke my heart, but that didn't faze you.
And like the beautiful ocean you turned my once red heart blue.

The way you left like tides on the beach you broke me without a care.
And now I stand alone, watching the waves and with wind catching my hair.
I once stood here with you and I once held your hand too.
The ocean's whisper brought me solace that I had to find without you.

The sunset put my heart back together that you broke so easily.
I finally realize, I finally realize I have to start choosing me.
