Light on the Sauce

even though
the world's heavy
and the fog
thick in San Francisco
when love
sinks a battleship


i know that
if i were to dip into a bag
of some fried mozzarella sticks
off a North Beach food truck
i'd become
one with the universe


floating
light on the sauce
