Love

“What is love?” I ask myself.
I ponder this question day and night.
Why do we feel the need to find it,
When we know it’ll tear us apart?
Why do we waste our whole life searching for it
When all the while its right in front of us.
When we find love we want it to last forever
But what happens when it ends?
Your hearts in two and the tears wont stop.
Sleep wont come because you cant forget what you lost.
The thing that made you happy so much
You couldn’t think of anything but
Also made you feel empty and hollow inside.
You feel like an outsider watching as your life went by.
How can finding it make you so happy beyond belief
Nothing else mattered.
Knowing someone could care about you so much
And believe in you even when you don’t.
There’s love all around you but you don’t notice it.
Your parents love you,
Your friends love you,
And your family loves you.
But none of it matters if you cant find the love
Expressed with a kiss.
Not on the cheek but on the lips.
The one that shows how much passion and love
Someone has for you.
I don’t know why such a simple question
Is so hard to explain.
Maybe its better left unanswered.
But thinking it through I think I found my answer.
Love is a heart-breaking necessity of life.

Not meaning to sound critical, but I am sorry you had to come to that conclusion Melanie. On this level of life, Love means letting go as well as holding. There is a feeling we call love, that is heartbreaking, but it doesn't compare to what real Love is.Smile. Sincerely, Love, Moses
