Images of Imagination

Little girl wearing flowers up in her hair,
playing pretend in a blanket Dragons lair.

Princesses and Kings, and costumes for all,
There’s enough dresses for a make believe ball.

Playing pretend is just so much fun,
Using your imagination to become anyone.

Laurel’s a Dragon, and Xavier's a swap Creature,
Even the cat is dressed up like a teacher.

All of her students sit in a row,
From the movie she's playing, there is a glow.

All of the costumes we can change every day,
Tomorrow pick another, when it’s time to play.

Now it’s time to clean up and come back to ourselves,
Clean up all the toys and put them back on the shelves.

Now I am me, and you are you again,
Sometimes I wish we could always play pretend.

But that would be so silly and we’d never get to play,
Then we’d all grow up , but like a child we would stay.

Growing up is fun cause we’re learning everyday,
I’m getting good at math and all my vowels I can say.

When I go back home and go to sleep at night,
Not afraid of the dark because I dream best with no light.

When you grow up and close your eyes at the end of every day,
You can dream of anything or think of fun wordplay.

You can join a theater and act in many plays,
Or enjoy any kind of job for you to spend your days

Everyday we’re smarter than we were the day before.
One day we’ll be big kids with less costumes on the floor.

You’re all such good listeners and you deserve the best,
I bet all your families are all, just so impressed.
